Happy Halloween, I hope that it doesn’t snow tonight for all the kids who are out trick or treating. It snowed a couple of days ago so you never know but I am sure you guys will all have a good time.
I have talked to a few people about Morley and it looks good that I can get it every Saturday. However I think I may do the day a little different than I posted the other day. I will do an open camp in the morning and then have the afternoon open for open track practice. I think I will have it open for 3-4 hours with a $15 drop fee to ride. That way if you want to just cut out a few laps you can come to ride, or you can have some coaching in the morning if you want good training and structure. I would still do the High Performance Training at night for 10 kids only, which is filling up so if you want in you need to let me know.
Again this is not a for sure thing. I still have to have a confirmation from the powers that be, but its looking good. It will be good to have two days every weekend to ride; maybe I can even start riding a bit more this winter. It would be nice to get back onto my bike and lose my ever expanding gut!

The indoor season is fast upon us and with that come some top-notch camps. I will hold two camps in Abbotsford BC, on the first build on the weekend of November 10 and 11th. This is the weekend before the BC Cup so if you want a jump on your competition than this would be a great opportunity for you. As always both camps are open to ALL riders and all skill levels, no matter what level you or your child is, I will address that. I am going into my 15th season of doing camps and am very confident that you will be very happy with the results you achieve doing any sort of training with me. The last time I counted I’ve helped in the training of 37 UCI World Championship titles so I know there is something for everyone.
The first camp is on Saturday November 10 and will run from 11:00am to 3:30 pm. The second camp will be on Sunday November 11 and run from 1:00pm to 5:30pm, both camps will be at a cost of $55 per rider or $100 for both camps. Due to the cost of renting the track for the camps I cannot give out any family deals this time around.
During the camp we will be going over all different skill sets and proper ways to do everything on the track. As always I will have a team of trainers to help me out and I will post that info once the camps get closer. If you have any questions please contact me and I will answer them for you.
Morley:
I have talked to a few people about what’s happening in Morley and it looks as though I may be taking almost every Saturday. It’s a lot of $$$ and work for most of the tracks to commit to opening each Saturday, so I am going to do it. I hope there will be enough interest as it costs lots of money just to open the door. Here is an idea that I may run with so let me know what you think.
Here is my proposed schedule for Saturday:
-9:00am to 12:30pm (Novice/Intermediate Camp) this camp is targeted at having fun and working on skill sets. As riders increase their confidence on track they will be pushed to increase their skills as they see fit. Safety and fun will be priorities for this group. Cost will be $40 per rider.
-1:00pm to 4:30pm (Experts) this camp will be to push the skills that riders already have. This will be a high intensity training session and riders should be ready to work! Cost will be $40 per rider.
-5:00 to 7:00 (High Performance Training) this will be open to ONLY 10 RIDERS that are at a high expert or Elite Level. This camp will be designed to focus on top skills and fixing problems on a rider’s style to make them faster. This training session will be VIDEO TAPED, so riders will be taped and then will reviewed on the track. This way corrections can be made and progress can occur. Cost of this camp will be $60 per rider, first come first serve and pre-registration is a MUST. If you want in you better let me know right away.
This is not set in stone but I need to get the word out so I know if this can happen. If you are a member of your track, please pass this info onto your members. If I can get enough riders out on Saturday to open it all Winter those who take advantage will have an upper hand on those who don’t.
Today is my brother Gregs B-Day. Greg was a past Canadian Champ and when he quit riding he was the top Jr. Elite in Canada. Happy Birthday, here is a pic of me, Greg and Bubba.
I was looking at the date of my last post on my website and thought that I should dedicate some time to it tonight; especially since I have some news to post. I haven’t done any posts lately since I have been really busy with school, and I haven’t really had any info to post.
School is going really well and I am loving it. Some days are a little tough since I have a family and a 13-month-old daughter to take care of, but our familes have been helping out so much and have helped make the process of going back to school full-time somewhat easier. I was going back to school for Sports Medicine but since I am doing so well and enjoying my physics and math courses, I am switching over to Engineering. All first year courses are the same so I haven’t lost out on anything I did this semester.
Avrianna is getting huge and yesterday she took her first consecutive steps and walked a good ten feet. It was at the mall in front of a shoe store, I think it’s a bad sign, lol! Ever since she has been trying to walk more and more, soon she will be running.
Samantha has been over in Europe at the UCI training center in Switzerland. She did UCI Supercross race two weekends ago where she got 5th in her Semi. She rode awesome and was doing really well, just a stacked group in her Semi. She posted the 5th fasted time for the girls for the whole weekend. Last weekend she was in Vegas for the UCI races there and got two 3rd place finishes and two more scores to add to her UCI points, which she is leading in North America.
This weekend Sam is heading back to Switzerland to stay for 4 months over the winter, which is so great for right now. The trainers over there are top in the world and she will be able to ride all winter long and do the Euro races to compete against the girls who she will need to beat for an Olympic medal next summer. There are 3 others who are going to be staying at the facility and it’s Lapraz who won Jr. Men in Victoria and Saffiso from South Africa who won Jr. Men two years ago and made the main in France last weekend. Two of the fastest guys in the world, great training partners that she’ll be working with for BMX this winter. I can’t remember who the other rider is but it’s a perfect situtation for the winter before Bejing, She will be untouchable in a few months.
Speaking of winter training, MORLEY IS A GO!!!!!!! I will have camps throughout the winter I will talk about it later when I find out. I will be doing two camps at the ABBY Indoor on November 10 and 11. I will post more info in a few days when I have the info to do a post.

Secured funding for Morley up to Mid January by having a cash commitment of $2000.00 each from Airdrie, Cochrane, Calgary, and Okotoks. Will use one day per weekend (Sundays) this leaves the Saturday open for individual clubs or clinic bookings at the $500.00/day rate that the Band is charging. There is a possibility of getting federal funding for the whole season because this is collaboration between Natives and non-Natives in an effort to help to integrate natives into “Mainstream” sports.
Will be pursuing a “Canadian” (read: CBA) approach to hosting our Western National series in other words, will NOT be seeking to align with either the NBL or the ABA at any level of affiliation. We have the CCA’s blessing to run the western nat series under the CBA or whatever we want to call the flag.
AB Plates have been ordered and will arrive next week then will be forwarded on the club executives for distribution.
That about covers the majors. Alberta Bicycle AGM is Nov 3.
